Answers to Exercises - Distributed Systems - Chapter 5
Skipping Chapters 2-4. Didn't really do good in first exam. So might as well start studying chapters 5-8 covered for the 2nd exam.

Answers to Exercises - Distributed Systems - Chapter 1
Been awhile. Thought I just start posting my answers, mostly researched throughout the internet & the book itself, of the exercises of this book "Distributed Systems - Concepts and Design 5th Edition" by Coulouris, Dollimore, Kindberg, and Blair.
I have a subject in my Master's degree, IT 238 "Networking and Client/Server Computing". Since first exam is coming up, which covers chapter 1 through chapter 4 of this book, I thought it's best that I answer the Exercises found in the book. I would answer that exercises found at chapter 1 for now, and will just post my answers from other chapters in the next posts.
I'll be honest, many of my answers are from various sources I found in the internet. I will cite the sources.

Linux Mint 17.1 Xfce 64bit setup of Ayumin - Partitioning, Installing & Updating
Using solely my laptop, Ahim, for my computer needs, I decided I badly need a new desktop. Even though our family already has a desktop, codenamed Aya, it's a hassle that I have to reboot our desktop, whenever I need to use the Linux partition. My father and brother need a Windows operating system because the applications they use even though they are all pirated or cracked are dependent on them (AutoDesk AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, etc).
Anyway, I finally assembled a new desktop. I gave her the name Ayumin, which is another nickname of Ishida Ayumi besides Daaishi. She is known as "the dancing machine" of Morning Musume. I also find it a relief that I'm the only one that will use this new desktop hahaIt's fun using, fiddling and playing Ayumin so far.
Since it's a new desktop, there's no operating system in it. Since I'm a Linux Geek, I need to install Linux in it. Might as well use a more user friendly and easier to manage Linux distribution, but still have snappy graphic user interface. That is why I decided to install Linux Mint 17.1 Xfce 64bit.
More or less similarbut not really the Perfect Desktop series of HowToForge, this blog post is about my setup in partitioning, installing and updating of Linux Mint 17.1 Xfce 64bit in Ayumin.

Released English subbed AKBingo! files Python script checker
obligatory screenshot of Okaro from the AKBingo! show |
Since most of the main things that are needed are mostly coded in my previous AKBingo-renamer.py Python script, this script was relatively easier to work on.

Released English subbed AKBingo! files Python script renamer
AKBingo! is a weekly variety show of AKB48 which are hosted by the owarai duo, Bad Boys. Sister groups of AKB48 also participate in the show. And oh, I love Japanese variety shows.
As of writing, the show has more than 300 episodes. And there have been different fansub groups who have made subtitles of the different episodes of the show.
Here is a list of the filenames I have collected so far. Most are hardsub files. Some I downloaded via Hello!Online tracker or direct download from the fansub groups, or I ripped them off from streaming sites using youtube-dl or JDownloader if there is no choice.

Above are some of the sample names of the different files I have. If you observe, the problem here is that they have different naming schemes. I also noticed that I have started renaming some of the files but had the dates wrong. It is rather time consuming and prone to human error to rename the files.
That's why I decided to make a python script to rename the files.

Using IFTTT, post a picture at Facebook page then picture will be posted to Tumblr
It has been eons since the friends who are admins of Korni Mo, Gago Facebook page asked me if it's possible to crosspost their macro picture posts automatically to Tumblr. After some research and experiment, I finally got it (without me coding at all!). Sorry, this took too long haha
